At age 32,

that word means lacking vigor.
How I feel today.

Seeing an old friend
reminds me of good times past
and good times to come.

After six long months,
I start my new job today.
It's been a long time.

She had a baby!
But I didn't even know
she was expecting.

I'm waiting on hold -
ten minutes so far to ask
a simple question.

The cool, gentle breeze
belies the calendar date -
Springtime in July.

Today's interview
went better than expected.
Did I get the job?

Unable to think,
I sit down at the keyboard
to write a haiku.

Rat-a-tat-a-tat,
report the neighborhood boys -
The Fourth of July.

Mom is gone today.
I sit and play dollhouse with
my two little girls.

Splashing in the pool,
Emi and Annie and I.
Mizu no oto.

Sitting in the shade
eating chocolate ice cream -
a six-year-old girl.

You must be quite lost
strutting by the Interstate -
pretty blue peacock.
